Waimanu Valley, Big Island of Hawai'i
Here is another photo from my backpacking trip into Waimanu Valley. Time to get a little more abstract!
For sunrise I went out to the black sand beach. I was mesmerized by these colors that I saw. The sun rising in the east lit up the large valley wall to the west, making it reflect golden light. That golden light hit the black sand beach below causing a really interesting confluence of colors. It’s not every day in nature you see black, gold, and white together.
I happily walked up and down the shore snapping literally hundreds of photos. Photographing the ocean can be maddening however, because every wave and shutter speed setting look different… but it’s so satisfying when you get “the one!”
